Rethinking the frame

Craftsmanship, technology and kinetic devices at the service of Cultural Heritage

Abstract

In recent years, museums' traditional “function” as a place of conservation and exhibition where the visitor’s experience is only visual has transformed, and the concept of fruition itself has evolved, embracing that of knowledge. From a place of conservation, the museum has become a place to carry out laboratory activities, it includes more dynamic and performing forms of the exhibition using multimedia tools, and it got interactive by using sophisticated digital technologies (mobile app, interactive avatars, augmented reality devices, smart tags).
