Abstract

Why has radical design often been called utopian and speculative design dystopian? What leads one to qualify the outcome and process of a project in more or less favourable terms when it is nonetheless sustained by instrumental and programmatic factors of disruptive innovation beyond the constraints and conditioning of the past?
