Abstract

The relationship between Michele De Lucchi and design, I believe, is clearly expressed by the existence of that almost fantastic place that is the Chioso. His 'refuge' on Lake Maggiore, but also his laboratory, atelier, workshop, and archive: the Chioso, like design, is not a univocal entity but a set of suggestions, images, sensibilities, and technologies, which continuously draw on the real world.
